Amarok Picks Up Award

The new Volkswagen Aniarok has been announced as the recipient of the International Pick-Up Award 2011 - with judging carricd out by an international panel representing 23 countries.

During the process, the Amarok was praised by the jury for its effortless off-road abilities', while its capacity on-road was judged to be the best against all other competitors. Ihe jury was also impressed by the Amarok s interior - in particular, the layout and available space for both front and rear passengers in the double-cab cabin.

Set for launch in the UK in 2011, the Amarok boasts the largest load dimensions in its class with a load area measuring 1555mm in length and 1620mm in width - with 1222mm available between the wheelarches. Maximum load capacity is 1057kg, with a towing weight (for a braked trailer) of 2.8 tonnes.

All models will feature an Electronic Differential Lock, Electronic Stabilisation Programme with Hill Hold Assist, plus Hill Descent Assist and off-road ABS - the latter designed to shorten stopping distances on loose surfaces.
