A much stronger second run saw him briefly set a new UK record for front wheel drive Fords with a 12.2 and a blistering 0-101mph in 8.3 seconds recorded at the 1/8 mile mark. Then the slicks were fitted, which is where it all went wrong, as the new clutch promptly died after a tyre warming burnout. It's clearly an awesome, massively capable car, but that 11 second pass will have to wait just a bit little longer.
